Betty Everett - Chronological 1957 - 1978
116 tracks and about 5¼ hours of music. If you were alive and listening to music between the years of 1957 and 1978 you experienced first hand a musical evolutionary burst where not only recorded songs went through a rapid change, but the way music was recorded and marketed did as well. One thing that nearly remained constant during those years was the way we listened to music. There wasn't much change except for the development of audio tape cassettes. Anyway, try explaining that to a typical person 45 or younger if you have time to waste. Even though Betty's recording career was pretty much limited to just the slice of the pie perhaps described as "pop/black pop", I think listening to this collection is a good example of the rapid change that occurred over that 20 year period. (Obviously it doesn't illustrate the change in rock, country, jazz, etc.)
Note: I fully intended to NOT include Track 18 as Betty did not sing on that. I didn't notice the error until I began to check the tags and at that point, and with my dominant hand about 50% out of action, I did not want to go back and change all the index numbers. So the track is in the folder but left off the fake art work.
