Anita O'Day - Chronological 1941 - 1963

I shared this on a couple other blogs back 4 or 5 years ago.....and then someone re-shared it later as a "real" CD set. I don't recall if I've made changes to it since then, other than to the tags or something. I first came across her 1960 recording of Little Girl Blue when I was doing a blog about popular songs that had a long and evolving past before their best known versions came along. Since then it's become one of those recordings that keeps popping up in my head. Something about her phrasing and the Billy May arrangement must have appealed to my memory cells. I included original release info only up to when she signed with Verve in 1952 as after that she just did big sessions that Verve would later release and re-release in dribs and drabs, here and there, and it just didn't seem like very pertinent information. 309 songs and just over 15 hours of music.
