Glenn Miller & His Orchestra 1937 - 1942 Female Vocalists

Certainly one of the most popular musical acts in the United States during the years leading up to World War 2, the Miller Orchestra is probably best remembered today for several of their rousing instrumental recordings. When it came to vocals, Miller seemed to prefer Ray Eberle's many crooning numbers to which couples could romantically dance to.
However, Miller always had a female vocalist in is band and the longest serving one was the energetic Marion Hutton. Marion only sang uptempo songs and the ballads were left to Eberle.
Following Marion's return from her second leave of absence, Miller was giving many of those type of songs to sax player Tex Beneke and Marion was often reduced to just getting a few lines in the Beneke vocal or singing with the four-male group The Modernaires.
It's just a small portion of Miller's surviving recordings, but I felt it was time to isolate and organize what to me is the best chapter of the Miller story.
