Back on the 8th of July I posted the Australian series Doctor Down Under, a continuation of the 1969-1977 series of British "Doctor" sitcoms. In 1991 the franchise returned for a final time with the 7 episode Doctor at the Top, returning to see how three of its stars were doing later in their careers. It didn't have much success and was never released commercially, but if someone watched the previous 151 episodes I would think they would probably be more tolerant of the final seven episodes.
Actor John Inman spent the northern hemisphere winter of 1979 in Australia and brought along his Wilberforce Humphries character from the popular 1972-1985 UK comedy Are You Being Served? Sixteen episodes were produced using Australian actors in the various roles with the exception of Inman's Mr. Humphries and they aired in 1980. I used an obscuring filter to cover the editing time stamp on the video. It's been quite a few years since I watched these but I seem to recall it worked alright and I also believe these were new stories for the most part. This is the last of the Australian adaptations of UK comedy series I have.
